la casa del español
Valladolid is a great place to study Spanish - here's why:
- Quick and easy access from Madrid (under an hour by train).
- It’s a medium-sized, clean and safe city.
- Spanish in this region is very clearly spoken.
- It’s an exciting, dynamic city, with a varied cultural offering.
- Despite its charm, there aren’t as many tourists as in other cities.
- It’s also well-known for its ‘tapas’ and ‘pinchos’, and the excellent Ribera del Duero wines.
- It’s an important historical city, once home to the royal household, and the site of Columbus’ death.
- Valladolid has a great literary tradition. Amongst other important writers, Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quijote de la Mancha, lived here.
